Toyota Hands Over Five Vehicles To Charities Across The Country

For the past two years the Today show's "Lend a Hand" and Toyota has teamed up. I previous years, the Japanese automaker has participated in one day of the weeklong series, donating one Toyota Sienna, each year. This year, despite the low volume of inventory, Toyota has given one new model to five different charities across the country.

Toyota is on track to roll out their 17,000 solar panel project estimated at ? 10m (~$16,450,785) after local authorities in Derbyshire, England gave them a go. A lot is already in the works with 90,000 square meters of industrial land that Toyota has start to make room for the solar panels.

"Generating solar power on-site to supply electricity to the plant underlines our commitment to do even more to further reduce our carbon footprint and is yet another example of our environmental leadership,"1 says Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Manufacturing UK.
