With the 2011 SEMA Show came a plethora of new, performance-driven variants of the Toyota vehicles we know and love...and a few surprises, too Toyota was expected to show off the upcoming 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Edition at the show, but in the end, they had one more big surprise for off-road enthusiasts in mind.
More specifically, Toyota teamed with twenty aftermarket specialist, including Long Beach Racers, Defined Engineering, Mastercraft Safety Equipment, Blue C, Spin Imagine, and Red Car Brewery to develop a new racing truck that uses the 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Edition as a platform.
Among the more noticeable upgrades that the Long Beach Racers Tacoma is equipped with are a new custom paint job with TX Baja Series graphics; custom mounted headlights in place of its exterior mirrors; Mastercraft racing seats, harnesses, and window nets; and 35" BFGoodrich Project Tires on 16" TRD Baja Series wheels.
How will Toyota put its new racing toy to good use? By entering it into the 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 to be driven by former motocross rider Andy Bell. After that, the Long Beach Racers Tacoma will be shown off at a number of different racing conventions and events for fans to admire before competing in the 2012 SCORE races.
Underneath all of those aftermarket parts, you can rest assured that the heart of a 2012 Toyota Tacoma beats firmly; the same Tacoma that you can take for a test drive at 2550 North Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN by contacting O'Brien Toyota Scion online or by phone at (888) 693-5876.
