With the 2012 Toyota Plug-In Prius fast approaching, there's no like the present to test the car's capabilities. And, that's exactly what Toyota is doing. In fact, the Japanese automaker has just released initial results from testing done with the cooperation of EDF Energy, in London.

Toyota is on track to roll out their 17,000 solar panel project estimated at ? 10m (~$16,450,785) after local authorities in Derbyshire, England gave them a go. A lot is already in the works with 90,000 square meters of industrial land that Toyota has start to make room for the solar panels.
