Know Your End-of-Lease Options
If your Toyota lease is ending soon, you’ll want to make sure that you understand all of your options. You’ve got some decisions to make, and, depending on what you decide, there may be some steps you need to take before the lease end date. Here’s a general timeline to help you make sure that you make the best choice for your particular situation.
90 days before your lease end date: this is when you should start researching your options. Two of the more common choices are to either lease a new Toyota or purchase the vehicle you’ve been driving. If you choose to lease again, understand that you need to have your current vehicle inspected and you’ll want to make any repairs before you return it to the dealership.
60 days out: if you’re going to turn in your current vehicle, now is the right time for that inspection. AutoVIN, Toyota’s independent vehicle inspection company, offers convenient and complimentary inspections, and they’ll let you know if you’re going to face any excess wear and use fees.
30 days before the lease ends: hopefully you’ve made your final decision, so this is when you should focus on wrapping up those final details to everything runs smoothly when you bring your Toyota in.
