Prius Prime Earns “Auto del Año” Honors
The newest addition to the popular Prius lineup is a hit among Hispanic consumers. According to a press release issued earlier this week by Toyota, the all-new 2017 Prius Prime earned recognition as the Hispanic Motor Press Awards Electric-Hybrid “Auto del Año.”
The 7th annual awards were judged by a jury panel of 19 Hispanic journalists in the automotive industry. Vehicles were evaluated for how well they met the needs of Hispanic consumers. Factors that were assessed included design, comfort, safety, performance, functionality, accessory content, driver satisfaction, consumer final cost, and overall value.
“The automobile is changing and environmental concerns are in front of us every day,” said Hispanic Motor Press Jury Director Ricardo Rodriguez-Long. “Minimizing fossil fuel is one area that young Hispanics are embracing. Recyclable materials, powertrain efficiency, and connectivity are a must in today’s vehicles. The Prius Prime is the best example of the evolution of the automobile and we highly recommend this hybrid for the family.”
