The 2018 Toyota C-HR Dazzles with Daring Design

June 18th, 2017 by

How many new vehicles advertise their “daring design,” and how many actually follow through? With so many makes and models on the road, it’s hard to stand out in the crowd. That’s why the Chief Designer of the 2018 Toyota C-HR, Ian Cartabiano, wasn’t afraid to take risks.

“People are now expecting more of a strong personal statement with their automobiles,” he said. “It’s actually a really great time for automotive designers to push the boundaries of expressiveness.”

A good design is one that is new and exciting, and that can’t be done without some backlash. Some of the most popular automotive designs today started out being hated—and the designers of those models know that it’s okay. An evocative design stirs up strong feelings on both sides, and that’s exactly what Cartabiano is hoping for:

“I don’t need everybody to like it. I want people to love it passionately.”

Come check out the new C-HR crossover at O’Brien Toyota, and let us know if it is your kind of statement.
