Toyota Ramped Up Production in 2011 and Plunges into 2012

For an automaker, there's nothing better than pushing production ahead of schedule. This is especially so when said automaker has faced a handful of difficult external challenges. If you didn't already guess, the "said automaker" we're referring to, of course, is Toyota.
Shigeki Terashi, President and COO of Toyota North America, proudly exclaims that despite dealing with Japan's natural disasters, the Toyota team of employees was able to catch up with production quicker than expected. How? Through "commitment and customer-first spirit,"1 Terashi says. To give you an idea of just how hard workers worked, the automaker was able to push out a grand total of 1,255,635 vehicles in 2011.
And the motivation doesn't stop there. A highly-productive 2011 sets the stage perfectly for a successful 2012. So much so, in fact, that company officials state that Toyota will produce its 25 millionth North American-made vehicle this year. This milestone coincides with another celebration-worthy event: the start of EV RAV4 production in Woodstock, Ontario. The innovative RAV4 will join the following Toyota siblings in its North American production: the Toyota Avalon, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Toyota Highlander and many more.
