Toyota Expands its Hybrid Lineup

Go big or go home. That pretty much sums up the Toyota philosophy when it comes to green driving. And let O'Brien Toyota assure you, the motivated automaker is certainly not going home. In fact, company officials have recently announced that Toyota will release six new hybrid models in 2012.

No, you aren't having hearing troubles. We did say six. And as marvelously shocking as that number may be, we haven't even released the most astonishing part. Those six models are in addition to any new variants of current hybrids such as the Toyota Prius. While O'Brien Toyota doesn't have too many details to divulge at this moment in time, we have heard that two of the models will be created under the automaker's luxury arm while the other four will wear the Toyota name.

In case that isn't enough, the U.S. market will also see a new all-electric variant of the Toyota RAV-4 sometime in the near future.  This model will improve upon the original 1997 RAV-4 EV and is predicted to reach an exceptional 200-mile drive range with a 56-kWh battery capacity. Though we won't swear our lives on it, O'Brien Toyota has also heard that we might get a version of the small city car FT-EV developed by Toyota or one of its arms.

With so many new green vehicles in the works, Toyota is hoping to show consumers that hybrid is truly the way to go and provides ample benefits to both consumers and the habitat in which we thrive. If increasing eco-friendly driving is at the top of your priority list, feel free to contact us or drop by 2550 North Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219.
